Dear Prospective Participant,

Thank you for inquiring about the Bobby Bowden Seminole Football Camp. The Bobby Bowden Seminole Football Camp is a non-contact camp teaching skill and technique. The camp is open to young men 9 years old through rising senior in high school and you will be divided by age and ability during the first day of the camp.

Coach Bowden will oversee the camp and instruction will be given by the Florida State Coaching staff, with assistance from some of the best high school coaches in the country. Parents are welcome to attend all practices.

The Bobby Bowden Football Camp is a non-contact camp teaching skill and technique. The camp is open to young men 9 years old through rising senior in high school. Camp sessions are divided by age and ability. Camp is coached by the Florida State Coaching staff and some of the best high school coaches in the country. Parents are welcome to attend all practices.

Each position is taught and supervised by the Florida State University football staff, assisted by some of the finest high school coaches in the nation.

Campers receive instruction in one or more positions. They include QB, RB, WR, TE, and OL on offense and DB, LB, DE, and DL on defense.

We have expanded the camp this year so that the current FSU coaches will have more hands-on time with the younger campers.
 

Campers will be grouped according to age, and position.

Skills and competition will be based on each camper's level of experience.

Players will be taught specific techniques to enhance their skill level along with basic football fundamentals.

Group discussions will be held concerning the importance of academic performance.

Eligibility: The camp is open to young men 9 years old through rising senior in high school.

Under NCAA rules, any person who has started their senior year of classes is ineligible for camp.

Registration: July 13, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Green Room on the second floor of the Moore Athletic Center

Pick Up: July 16, 2008 in the lobby of Salley Hall

Day Camper Hours: 8:45 AM (at Practice Fields) - 4:45 PM (at Practice Fields)

Housing and Meals:  All overnight campers will be housed at Salley Hall, a university-run dorm on campus.  Campers are supervised 24 hours a day by coaches and football staff.  Meals are eaten at the Fresh Food Company.  There are 2 beds and one bathroom to a suite.  Roommates will be assigned once you arrive at registration.

Meals are also available for day campers and can be purchased at registration for $7 each.

Safety and Supervision: Experienced trainers and athletics training rooms are available at all times. Each camper is covered by a limited accident/sickness insurance policy. This coverage is secondary for all campers. Please provide the camper's primary insurance company and policy number on the Consent for Treatment of a Minor form.  All campers are insured by a commercial carrier contracted by the camp.

Facilities
: Florida State University features some of the best athletic facilities in the country including:
Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium
The Don Fauls Athletic Training Room
The Roger Holler Champions Training Complex
The Manny Garcia Locker Room
The Jim and Linda Owens Multi-Purpose Room

Transportation: Transportation is provided to and from the airport/bus/train station on the first and last days of camp ONLY. A travel itinerary must be faxed to the football office 2 weeks prior to camp. Tallahassee’s airport is Tallahassee Regional Airport.

Insurance: All campers are insured by a commercial carrier contracted by the camp.

Payment: Camp registrations will be taken through the first day of camp. Final payment must be made by this time. Camp payment is NOT REFUNDABLE and will be applied to next year’s camp in the event of a cancellation.

Payment must be made by Cash, Cashier’s Check or Money Order. No Personal checks accepted.
Credit Cards accepted on web site only.

Refund policy: If an application is withdrawn for any reason up until the camp session begins, any money sent will be applied to next year’s camp. There will be no refunds once the camp session has begun, except in the case of injury. (Camp session begins with registration.) Refunds will be processed after the last camp session has ended.

NCAA guidelines prohibit payment of camp expenses (ie. Camp fees, transportation, spending money, etc.) by representatives of Florida State University athletic interests. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admission for prospects (9th grade and above).

Location: The Bobby Bowden Seminole Football Camp will be held on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. Tallahassee is accessible by interstate highway, Tallahassee Regional Airport, Amtrak, or Greyhound Bus.

Take I-10 to Exit 209A. Go west on HWY 90 (Mahan Street which turns into Tennessee Street) to Monroe St. Make a left and go south on Monroe St. to Gaines St. Make a right and go west on Gaines St.

From: Airport
Go South on Capital Circle to Lake Bradford Rd. Make a left on Lake Bradford and follow to Stadium Drive.

From: Hwy 90 West (Quincy)
Go East on HWY 90 (Tennessee St.) to Ocala St. Make a right and take Ocala St. to Pensacola St. Make a left and go East on Pensacola St.

From: Route 319 (Thomasville Rd.)
Take Thomasville Rd. to Monroe St. Make a left and go South on Monroe St. to Gaines St. Make a right and go West on Gaines St.

What not to bring: Do not bring an excessive amount of money or valuables (rings, jewelry, etc.). Florida State University and the Bobby Bowden Seminole Football Camp will not be responsible for lost or stolen personal articles. Guns, knives, weapons of any kind, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are not allowed at the camp.
